Support for Kids & Teens Who Are Struggling Emotionally

Specialized therapy for children and adolescents navigating anxiety, low confidence, emotional overwhelm, and grief.

Every child struggles in their own way—and sometimes it’s hard to know what’s “normal” and what needs extra support.

I work with children and teens who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, helping them build confidence, regulate their emotions, and feel more secure in themselves.

Does your kiddo struggle with any of these?

If yes, you’ve found the right place!

  • Anxiety in kids doesn’t always look like worry.

    You might notice:

    • Overthinking or constant “what ifs”

    • Trouble sleeping or relaxing

    • Avoiding situations or new experiences

    • Physical symptoms like stomach aches or tension

    • Becoming easily overwhelmed or shutting down

I help children understand what’s happening in their bodies and minds, and give them tools to feel calmer, more in control, and less consumed by anxious thoughts.

  • Some kids quietly struggle with how they see themselves.

    You might notice:

    • Being overly self-critical

    • Fear of failure or trying new things

    • Difficulty making or keeping friends

    • Comparing themselves to others

    • Avoiding challenges

Through experiential and relational work, I help kids build a stronger sense of self, develop confidence, and begin to trust their abilities.

  • Big emotions can feel overwhelming—for both kids and parents.

    You might notice:

    • Frequent meltdowns or outbursts

    • Difficulty calming down once upset

    • Anger, frustration, or irritability

    • Shutting down or withdrawing

    • Struggles expressing feelings

I help children learn how to recognize, express, and regulate their emotions in a healthy way, so they feel more in control instead of overwhelmed by what they feel.

  • Grief in children often shows up in ways that are easy to miss.

    You might notice:

    • Increased anxiety or clinginess

    • Mood changes or irritability

    • Withdrawal or loss of interest

    • Confusion or difficulty understanding what happened

    • Behavioral changes

I provide a safe, supportive space for children and teens to process grief at their own pace, helping them make sense of their experience and feel less alone in it.

HOW OUR THERAPY WORKS

Therapy at Gideon’s Care Farm is different from traditional talk therapy.

Using equine-assisted and animal-assisted therapy, sessions are interactive, hands-on, and tailored to your child’s needs.

This approach is especially helpful for kids who:

  • Struggle to open up verbally

  • Feel uncomfortable in a traditional office setting

  • Learn best through experience rather than conversation

Working with animals helps children build confidence, emotional awareness, and connection in a way that feels natural and engaging.

I work with both children and their parents to create meaningful, lasting change. Alongside your child’s sessions, I provide support and guidance so you feel more confident understanding and responding to your child’s needs at home.

If your child is struggling and you’re not sure what to try next, you’re not alone—and support is available.
